You can probably already get what you want. Basically you want a
transition between two tracks of a same source: this is obtained using the
cross() and smart_cross() operators and their derivatives crossfade() and
smart_crossfade().
The only trick is that they don't make a difference between a skipped
track and a normal track. This is simply because there is no difference.
If you really want to create a difference, you can set a flag (using
interactive.float/string) when you skip, and check this flag in the
transition function of your (smart_)cross().
