This assertion means that the content should be uniform over the frame.
You get a content layer at a given position, and it should last until the
end of the frame. In this case it corresponds to the fact that output.ao()
expects an uniform content type for its stream.
So it's either a source that doesn't respect its type (likely) or a bug in
the type system (unlikely) or a bug in Frame/Generator which violates the
type or creates contiguous content layer of the same type (possible).
