(In [5163]) This is david.patch as proposed in #36. Let's say fix #36 for
now. This change
is quite clean and low-level and consists in changing metadata from a
punctual
information to an interval information. Some metadata issues will still be
unchanged (see the comments associated to #36) and may lead to other
changes,
notably in the switch-based operators.
