For the record, you can test that liquidsoap can download/open/decode an audio URI, and in particular a file: $ liquidsoap -r URI
You can also check for available decoders by looking under the "file formats" section at the beginning of the following listing: $ liquidsoap --list-plugins | less It's simpler than running a script for troubleshooting.
