Hello, Just to let you know that we have validated 80 simultaneous instances of liquidsoap on a single Core i7 920. It's the best CPU we have tested till now. Core2Duo was around 25, Core2Quad around 40, dual quad-core opteron around 75 (but with 2 CPUs) and now core i7 (single cpu) is running 80.
Tests were made using liquidsoap 0.9 : - icecast 2.3.2 local - php-cli for the dynamic request and file retrieving from our main storage (and doing the mp3 cut following the dynamic intro and extro points received via webservice request) Load is around 9.00 (8 core detected by linux) which sounds good. CPU is 25% iddle following the top command.
