Thanks for your insterest in the macports for liquidsoap !

The macports are high-level makefile designed to fetch the sources, decompress,
configure, build and install the software.

The macports that you can find in liquidsoap's SVN ship a seperate port for
each dependencies needed by liquidsoap, and then on top of that the macport
for liquidsoap itself.

You can find them there:
  https://savonet.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/savonet/macports

The current status of the macports is pretty outdated. However, most of the
work is just there. The most important part would be to update the ocaml-foo
bindings to the latest version. For updating the packages, all you need is to
setup the new version & checksums in Portfile.

Also probably needed is to check for ports that are shipped in our SVN because
at the time I worked on them, there was some issue with the ports shipped by
macports, this includes:
  camomile
  xml-light
Either the ports from macports had an issue, or they were simply not
available.

For a documentation about how to prepare macports, I would refer to the main
website:
  http://guide.macports.org/

Eventually, you should also consider submitting savonet's ports there, which
is the best place for them to live.

I stop now for this general presentation, please don't hesitate to ask for
more practical details when you start updating them, either here or on the IRC
chans.

Of course, as soon as you have them updated, we will provide you with wirtting
permissions on the SVN in order to commit your changes !
