At some point, when you need too complex things, it's a good idea to write your own external scheduler and plug it using request.dynamic(). For this particular purpose however, you might be able to hack something like playlist.once(). It is a variant of playlist that plays only one time its list of files. As far as I remember it does not give means to reload, so you'd have to change a bit its code. At least, have a look at playlist.once() in utils.liq, that should give you an idea of the more advanced things that you can use. This kind of question has arised before in the mailing list, a quick search might be helpful too.
