Dear all ! I am pleased to join David's announce [1] that liquidsoap 0.9.2 is now out !
As explained in the announce, we will now concentrate our efforts toward liquidsoap 1.0, and the current trunk code will be experimental for some time. As a consequence, the daily debian packages [2] have been stopped. The latest one corresponds to the code released today. The stable backported fully-featured package for 0.9.2 is now available at [3]. The Debian package for sid/unstable will soon be available too. Additionally, a stable debian backport [4] should be available anytime soon. If you are running debian stable and you don't know what package you should install, we recommend to first try the package that is in your distribution. If the features are not sufficient or you experience some bugs, you should give a try to the debian stable backport package. If this package is still not sufficient, for instance you need a native mp3 encoder, then you should try our stable backport. In the last case, you can try the daily debian packages. However, these packages may break from time to time. On the other hand, using recent code and reporting issues in the trac [5] helps a lot to improve and fix bugs. As explained above, the last part about daily packages do not apply temporarily, since these packages are desactivated for some time, while we'll be working on merging and fixing the recent major changes toward liquidsoap 1.0. As such, the stable 0.9.2 backport is almost identical to the latest daily debian package. Have fun with liquidsoap ! Romain PS: Our french users may also grab the november release of the GNU/Linux magazine and learn more about some advanced usages of liquidsoap !
