Well, to be frank it should compile -- it just won't work fully and smoothly.

That being said, I don't know the origin of your problem. Do you have
the file ocaml-cry/src/cry.cmxa? Maybe your installation simply
doesn't have the native code ocaml compiler (ocamlopt instead of
ocamlc)?

In any case, you can configure with --disable-nativecode to compile in bytecode.

But, as Frits reminded, it might not be worth trying hard to compile
our SVN yet.
