Yes!
Actually, I've just tested both internal and external and the external one
seems to work better, so I would recommend it.
All in all, outputing in AAC+ may require that you restart the
encoder/liquidsoap from time to time.
I have just commited some defaults value for the icecast output. They are not
defined in 1.0.0-beta1, so you would need to do something like:
output.icecast(%external("aacplusenc - - 64"),
format="audio/aacp",
icy_metadata="true", (...) )
