First, it's always possible not to install liquidsoap at all. The only
critical thing is if you need liquidsoap to find its default
libraries, but you can always load them by hand.

Second, you can safely install several versions: make sure to rename
the old binary when you install a new one, the libraries are
automatically put in a version-specific directory, and the other stuff
(logrotate and init.d scripts) will be merged but they didn't change
for a long time anyway.

In short: it works, just be careful about the configured paths, or
simply use without installing.
