Your client might be doing that and then reconnects and buffers real fast so you didn't notice it? By the way, since you seem to have transitions: the new ogg track is not caused by a new track in liquidsoap (transitions merge tracks) but by the new metadata. In any case you can try using the merge_tracks and drop_metadata operators just before output to see if this is really the problem.
