Yes, this is kind of a mess there.. There was already a mess with
-lBPM and the different names for the pkg-config file. Lately, the
gcc/g++ maintainers also decided to tighten up the dependencies for
c++, which forces ocaml users now to pass -lstdc++ at link-time.. (and
it seems that it is not even an acceptable thing to do..)

Yes. The main problem is that there is little control over linking of
ocaml binaries. Linker parameters are given by the different modules.
Furthermore, I remember trying to force static linking and it was very
ad-hoc and did not work with many external modules.

My advice in this case is to ship the binary with the dynamic
libraries in its main folder and use LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point LD to
this folder.
