My comment about mono/stereo happened because you spoke about it :) 
Appart from that I don't plan to implement this feature in robinet for 
now, because I see it more like a "bonus" value.
However ! I was interested to know how it could be possible, for my 
information

About choosing the bitrate, this is something I definitively need to 
implement.
Out of curiosity, it tried

out(%mp3(bitrate="#{stream_bitrate}"))

to see what happen...  resulting in "complex expressions are forbidden 
in encoding formats."
Of course, it works with a static value.
