Hi,
Thank you for your reply.

I manage to get the audio clear by playing around with the bitrate and
samplerate for %mp3.

For problem 2, I think I should explain more. You see, I have a program that
generates a playlist. when it is generated it also sets an image that is for
the current playing item so that the website can use the image.
this requires that when liquidsoap calls the playlist program it should be
in sync. So the steps look like this.

1. grab next item from the playlist
2. set it to is-playing (From here the website reads is-playing data and
grabs the image associated with current playing item)
3. play the item that was grabbed (liquid soap plays the item)
4. Repeat

The problem is that liquid soap streams the data and grabs another "next"
too soon and it makes the images out of sync by a few seconds.
How can I tell liquid soap to wait for the entire stream to be sent before
it grabs another playlist item?

Thank you in advance for your help :)

This is a bad surprise... Does it also happen if you simply output to
a file (not icecast) and listen to that file? Does it depend on the
input format (mp3 vs ogg)? output format? samplerate?

Not sure to understand exactly what you want, but it sounds like a
misunderstanding of what icecast (HTTP streaming generally) can and
cannot do: it's not made for realtime, there are buffers everywhere
and nothing to control them. The only way to synch images with audio
is if you put everything together from the beginning before sending
(video) to icecast.

Cheers,
