Your PACKAGES files looks good -- you should have mp3 and ogg/vorbis
decoding enabled.
Could you post more verbose logs -- set("log.level", 4) -- around a
time when mp3 files fail to be played?
Additionally, I am suspecting here some issues with mp3 detection.
This has been enhanced a lot in the 1.0.0 line. Thus, if you could try
the latest beta, it should probably work with it without any tweak..
