I could finally understand how random works.
But i was wondering, is raising an exception the best way to get out of  the
fold in:
          . . . .
            ignore (List.fold_left
                      (fun k (s,w) ->
                         if k+w > sel then raise (Found s) else (k+w))
                      0 ready_list) ;
            assert false
        with
          | Found s -> Some s

It just seems a little wrong.
