Hi,
I'm from computing team at University Radio York <http://ury.org.uk>
We've just put our new liquidsoap jukebox into production and so far
it's working great!

However, there's one small issue we saw while testing it that any
thoughts on would be greatly appreciated.

The main stream this script generates is output to both an icecast
stream and to the sound card (via alsa). The main source of audio files
are from a mounted nfs share, with a couple of fallback files stored
locally. Both the icecast service and nfs mounts are on the same remote
server. When we restarted the remote server, we expected alsa output to
continue, but to play the local fallback source instead. However, the
alsa output immediately went silent.

Since the icecast stream is the important one for us, this isn't a major
issue, however it would be good to know what is going on. We see two
possibilities:

- When the icecast stream gets disconnected the liquidsoap stops alsa
too until it is restored
- Because the files are stored on a remote NFS mount, the file handle
freezes until the NFS connection is restored

Could it be one of these or something completely different?

Thanks,
Andy
