hm, yes, but that'd only work if i'd have a certain time window.
my live "inserts" are more of a request type, i.e. on demand on 
unpredictable times. so rather than defining a fixed start/stop 
time, i'm looking for a request-based source that stops after a 
defined time. any ideas?
