Hi There:

I am a new liquidsoap user, and also new to the list. I am scripting a small
radio application for use on my VPN. Specifically, it is for use with my old
1920s - 1940s radio collection. There are no AM stations where I am currently
living, so I need some music and other content.

My question concerns frequent, consistent segmentation faults when streaming
.m4a files. Generally, liquidsoap will run for about 5-10 minutes only before
seg faulting. This always occurs at the end of a selection, but it does not
seem to be specifically reproducible; the seg fault will occur, but it is not
reproducible with known files or anything.

I am using playlist.safe() to ensure that there are no issues with the .m4a (or
.ogg or .mp3) files, so this cannot be the cause of the seg faults.

This does not occur when streaming .ogg files, nor with .mp3 files. Only with
.m4a, and only at the end of a selection. I have run an .ogg file playlist,
and an .mp3 playlist for several hours each without any problems.

I searched the net and the list and did not see a definitive resolution of this
problem, other than some earlier seg fault issues which were apparently fixed
last year.

Thanks,

Kevin
