Short answer: it should play the next item in the sequence, and not loop
back
through the playlist. It should be easy to introduce a non-default action
in
playlist (as in 'playlist.once') -- such as 'loop=false'.

The format of our scheduling, simplified, looks like this:

# first show

  a => opener (usually a single)
  b => actual song playlist with 6-10 titles
  c => closer (usually a single)
  d => a filler (single) to complete 1/2 hr timeslot

sequence => a,b,c,d

# next show

switch schedule
output

Would this be possible?
