I did some more poking around, and here's what I found:
I had liquidsoap 1.0.0 in /usr/local/bin from when I had manually
installed it. I have liquidsoap 1.1.1 in /usr/bin from when I installed
it via a Gentoo ebuild. Starting things the Gentoo way, using init
scripts, I had neglected to put the -t option in the command args in the
init script.
So that solves the starting of telnet.
However, version 1.1.1 gives me this error when trying to start my script:
Invalid value at line 14, char 16-52: No encoder found for that format.
That line is this part of my script:
output.icecast(%vorbis(quality=0.6,samplerate=44100),
host="localhost", port=8000,
password="(password)", mount="ambient.ogg", name="Synthetronica
Radio",
description="Ambient Electronica", genre="Ambient",
url="synthetronica",
ambient_radio)
Version 1.0.0 gives no such error and starts normally.
I'm assuming this means the script syntax has changed, but according to
the docs I've found online, my script should still be correct. What
should I change?
