Hi,

Currently, we run six streams with identical shows except for bitrate and
output format on a single instance of LS.

We are planning to add six new streams that are totally different from the
current set of six with completely different shows.

We are concerned that if the current stream set crashes, all streams are
stopped and restarted. Since we have experienced a few timing issues
(catchups/restarts) with the current set, we would like to isolate
the new stream set from the current one so as to avoid both sets being
stopped/restarted.

With this in mind, how would one go about creating a new and unique
instance of LS that is totally isolated from the current instance. I'm not
clear on how to set this up server side if LS already exists, say
in'/usr/bin/liquidsoap'.

Would it be as simple as adding another instance, but placing the
executable say in '/opt/bin/liquidsoap' with all the files in a sub-dir of
'opt/...'? I gather that I will need to call the new instance from the new
liq scripts.

Pointers and advice greatly appreciated.

LS 1.0.0 on FreeBSD 9.1

Thanks,
kronos
