I've been tormented for several years now with dropouts/cutouts.

In particular, over the last few months, with harbor cutouts.

Here is the buffer log of one show, being streamed to an input harbor.

The data in this plot comes directly from the buffer output in the harbor
(thanks for including that capability!).

Any ideas why the buffer size is more or less monotonically decreasing until it
gets to zero or near zero, at which point there are audible dropouts (or,
worse, switching over to a jukebox for 2 seconds while the buffer fills up
again).

I could put a bigger buffer... but that would just delay the inevitable
explosion, and make the recovery take longer (and thus the interuption more
audibly bad.

What could be going on here?
