Update. I managed to telnet the port on my linode so it is indeed open, in fact
when I go to http://tffppodcast.com:8000 <http://tffppodcast.com:8000/> it hows
harbor page, then in the body it shows this page is not available. I think some
how something is blocking my outbound connection,, but I really don't know what.
