If I create a source a, then assign it to a different source b, then map_metadata on source a, the changes show up in source b.
Is this a bug? I could generate a test case if needed. Or is this the intended behavior? It's reproducible. This is a kind of quantum inseparability problem in sources. It's been causing me headaches for over a year.
