I just followed the steps. It took all of 30 seconds to install all of this 
stuff. My virtual box is fast at 1gig of ram. The process though still bombed. 
It can't compile for some reason from what I see in my consoul window. Here is 
the output.

By the way, opam-doc could not be found so I guess my vertual box provider 
doesn't have that in their apt-get repository.
