Hi Alexey, As far as I am concerned, there hasn't been any specific effort so far to decode or encode ALAC files or streams. We are always happy to see more formats being support by liquidsoap but time and commitment to actually implement isn't available for now.
You can try to implement it yourself, we'd be happy to review and merge any changes in this direction or, else, use some of the external encoder and decoder, for instance using ffmpeg for the actually encoding and decoding process. Hope this helps, Romain 2016-11-01 5:16 GMT-05:00 Alexey V Paramonov <[email protected]>: > > Hi, > I have several questions about ALAC support in liquidsoap. > First of all I have tried to feed liquidsoap a playlist containing ALAC > files, liquidsoap tried FAAD as a decoder and failed. > As far as I know there is a alac-decoder program that can decode ALAC > files, so my first question it how to replace FAAD decoder with > alac-decoder? > > My second question - is it possible to encode the stream in ALAC format, > any available encoders there? > And the last one - can I set up liquidsoap in a way that it will not > re-encode my files and just stream ALAC files without decoding and > encoding them again?
