On Linux you best use Jack ( http://www.jackaudio.org/ ) audio
connection and connect your soundcard or digital sink from your
airplayer to Stereotool then to a Liquidsoap jacksink out to your
streamer server (just use LQS for failover and transcoding)/ On windows
I myself just use Stereotool only as a plugin in Foobar to tune the
zillions ST of settings. But this is the place to check advanced or
less advanced installation questions :
http://forums.stereotool.com/viewforum.php?f=2 .
Keep your Soap script very - and I really mean very - simple. I
experienced pitch is unstable. Lqsoap Add will also add up soundlevels
turning all sound into the red zone, better process music and
transitions by a broadcast system. Even when using trimmed (on blank)
wav's the LQSoap system itself transitioning shorter stings up to 3 or 4
seconds by smart_fader generated blanks up to 2 seconds. Longer stuff
works ok. All four questions in this maillist never generated an answer
nor a reply so they still don't work.

Can you advise how to use Stereotool from the command line with
liquidsoap?

You should not use liquidsoap soundprocessing at all because it
adds a lot of distorion. For boosting your sound and HD
soundprocessing you should use Stereotool. It comes with a lot of
presets also.

Have you read this? Ok, it's sky, but some compressions settings too.

Hi Simone,
FM sound processing usually involves EQ and Compression. EQ
curve is that typical "smiley face", e.g. bass and trebles
accented, with a bit of an attenuation in mids. It's also
heavily compressed and limited before going through preemphasis.
I do not know exactly how to configure liquidsoap for the
job, but could advice you on the specifics of the processing.
Personally, I prefer neutral sound signature, as recording
engineers usually know how to make a recording sound great
without the need of additional processing on
user's/broadcaster's end.
Best,
Ondrej

Hello,
My webradio is running well with liquidsoap, I'd like to
know if you
know how to modify the sound with filters in order to
obtain a more
robust sound, like when you are listening to the fm radio.
I know the "sky" filter but it is not so good on my opinion.
Do you know some alternatives?
