All, I have been using this playlist generator for a few years now to generate fully randomized playlists 24/7. It takes a collection of song files and generates a fully randomized playlist for liquidsoap to use, and the randomization is optimized for best user experience (read the docs to learn more). It runs 100% unattended except for when you want to add/remove new songs to/from the playlist sets, at which time you simply restart the service.
It runs as a separate backend service: liquidsoap or any other client can make API calls to playgen to fetch the next song selection or do various management / monitoring tasks.
