I have spent some time and figured that I don't want to do it the grep way. Also, sawfish does not maintain the information I want. I have been able to get the open windows from x-server using some Xlib commands. However, the window ids are not matching the ones i get from xwininfo. I am using the XQueryTree function to get the window information in Xlib. Anybody know any helpful mailing list/forum for xlib? Thanks, Ruchi
