This initiative aims to build capacity and leadership skills for Indonesian field researchers at an early stage in their careers. A small number of grants and bursaries are available to support young Indonesian researchers being involved in field programmes; in particular to develop and conduct their own field research project. Bursaries of up to £2,000 are awarded on a competitive basis to support applicants that demonstrate how their field research experience will assist their professional development and contribute to the Millennium Development goals relating to ensuring environmental sustainability, for example in the areas of: Bullet sustainable development Bullet reversing the loss of environmental resources and biodiversity Bullet access to safe water Applicants must be Indonesian nationals currently enrolled in, or within five years of completion, of an undergraduate degree in geography or related environmental sciences, or currently registered to study for a Masters programme (but not a PhD).
