Actually, you can take the dogs pretty much anyplace, except through the merchant area
and up by the Royal condo's. Larry's dogs live in that area, and he doesn't want them
"marking" the merchants stuff when they see other dogs present in "their" area. They
do roam the entire site, but the only area we are restricted from is the one mentioned
above. To get to other encampments you have to walk the dogs down by the horse barn
and by the fighting field to get to the encampment area. Most hounds handle it pretty
well. My Libby does well until she hits the fighting field area then she spooks.

Subject: [SCA_Coursing] Hounds at Gulf War

Hi there,

Last year was our first Gulf Wars, and I was wondering if someone could
supply some info on where hounds can/can't walk around on site. I seem to
recall they weren't allowed in the merchant area. How about "visits" to
others' encampments? Is that allowed? Or do they stay on kennel lands 100%
of the time, except during parades/coursing? We're trying to decide whether
we camp with our local group (sans dog) or on kennel lands (cum canis).

Thanks!
Derbail
