Today, Saturday Sept 11, my beloved Courtney of the Greyhounds turns eleven years young. She spends much of her time being the proverbial greyt couch potato, but she still loves a good romp with the other kids in the back yard. Her teeth are deplorable and her appetite sucks most of the time, but she is still a greyt girl and she is going to celebrate tonight with a lamb burger for dinner and a 'small' party for all the kids. She is slowing down, but she is still the Alpha and still in charge. She gets all the best sleeping places and all the best of everything. She was my first greyhound, gotten as a Christmas present in December of 2001. She is my inspiration for rescue work and my reason for being so active in greyhound stuff within the SCA. She still loves to course, and gets to when she is feeling up to it. So Happy Birthday big girl, Mommy loves you and is so proud of you. All your greyt friends far and wide will celebrate your birthday today and send you lovey wishes for many more years of good times.
