Good Jennifer:
This is wonderful stuff! I feel I know your hounds, and thus you, a little better now.
I think I would have loved your Colt had I met him. What a precious, wee soul. I
believe he would not have had a decent life, nor probably a life at all, had it not
been for you. Stupid or no, he had a heart, could feel and needed love, and also could
have felt fear and pain as well as any "smart" dog had he been mistreated in some
other environment. Even his end was so peaceful; just sleeping in the home he loved
and was beloved in. Your gifts to him will be repaid to you a thousand fold!
But, also a coincidence: My Ambrose's call name when I met him was Crash! He was also
beloved by his trainer and the trainer's family. Infact, he was used to "babysit" the
kids! The first photo I saw of him, before even meeting him in person, was of him with
an adoring baby patting his most handsome head!
Oddly, about Ambrose's old name, is that his registered NGA name that he raced under
is Pike's Chuckylove. Yet, when he was introduced to my adoption group as Crash Lee,
everyone mistook that as his race name!
Yesterday, Saturday the 30th, was a most joyous anniversary here, appropriately right
on the heels of a somber one: It was one year ago yesterday that was Bose's last day
at the races! Three days after Lucy's passing. Three is the most significant and
mystic number in Buddhism, and thus holds such profound meaning. I wasn't to meet
Bosie until January of this year, and had almost adopted another dog. He was just a
better fit, and I had a strong feeling about him (though fortunately, I can see my
"niece", whom I still adore, anytime as she was adopted by my friends!). It was about
a month after he settled in here that I found out about his retirement day, and I had
goose-bumps. I think, perhaps, Lucy whispered in his ear, "Slow down! There's someone
you need to rescue...".
Greyt joy and blessings to you for all the wonderful work you do, and the loving,
fortunate home you give your pups!!!

Mevanwy,
Colt is pictured on my website. He was born with a celft palate and was
considered unadopable because he was so ugly and stupid. He was a
beautiful hound to me, and yes, he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box.
He was so "smart" that should he look up from his food bowl, he'd
frantically come to me whining because he couldn't find it. I actually
had to point his head DOWN for him to "find" his own bowl of food.
(sigh) the sad part is, its TRUE! I came home from work and found him
"asleep" on his couch, in his favored place to sleep. Was the best way
to go I could of asked for him.
I fear that the next one to leave me will be Twilite Crash, aka Crash.
He was so loved by his trainer's son that Jonathan named another
Greyhound after him- Crashman, who HL Catrin placed years ago. Crash is
my first Greyhound, the "founder" of CBD Therapy Dogs and the Half
Tailed Pack. He's now 13, and not ready to quit, still gung ho about
therapy work. Right behind him will be Birch, my Irish-imported boy,
then Dynasty... and with them will have left the original "CBD" of CBD
Therapy Dogs (Crash, Colt, Birch, Biznes, and Dynasty- whom my kennel
was named for).

Follow, poet, follow right
To the bottom of the night,
With your unconstraining voice
Still persuade us to rejoice.
With the farming of a verse
Make a vineyard of the curse,
Sing of human unsuccess
In a rapture of distress.
In the deserts of the heart
Let the healing fountains start,
In the prison of his days
Teach the free man how to praise.
