Samira Sent: Saturday, January 22, 2005 10:42 AM Subject: Help me find Gracie a home please! I am attaching another flyer of Gracie, the little whippet or greyhound mix that Teri Bentcover is fostering. She has been at Teri's for nearly 2 months now and I really need to place her in a forever home. She is crate trained, reliably housetrained, extremely gentle and calm, LOVES cats and other dogs and is very well behaved, thanks to Teri's training. She is learning some basic obedience commands but will likely have to be treated like a greyhound; either on a leash or in a fence. She has enough scent hound in her that when she picks up a scent, she wants to blindly follow it and would likely end up roaming into dangerous territory. That may be how she came to be picked up as a stray. She stands about 20" at the shoulder and weighs 45 pounds. She doesn't have a beautiful body: she is dark brindle in color and has a barrel shaped chest with the backend of a whippet or greyhound and a tail that curls slightly up over her body . . . who knows where that came from. I think her appearance is why she hasn't been adopted yet. She has a beautiful face and head though and she has an excellent temperament. I need for someone to recognize her inner beauty and give her the life she deserves. Would you please print a couple of the flyers off and hang them at your local convenience stores, grocers or post offices, etc.? The more I can spread the word of her availability, the sooner I can find the right home for her. I feel really badly that she is settling in at Teri's and will have to endure the stress of moving again. :) The sooner I can move her, the less traumatic it will be for her. Thanks so much for being willing to help me (to those of you who are :)) Gracie has endured a month in a kill shelter crammed into a kennel with 2 other strange dogs. While life at Teri's is fabtabulous, I am anxious to find a loving, committed adopter to give her the love and care she needs.
