On January 22 coursing was held at the Emprise of the Azure Rose at the Bit and
Spur in Cocoa, FL.
Two hounds attended; Desert Drum (Greyhound) and Kisses (Minature Australian
Shepard.) A Vizsla puppy also attended, but only as a spectator.
The course was roughly oval in shape and was 99 paces (about 165 meters) by
Randwulf's count. The first run was held at about 3 p.m.
There were no major injuries. Desert only received a few line rubs, including
one behind his ear, even though he took a spectacular tumble on the backside
after cheating one of the corners. Kisses had no injuries to speak of.
About 25 people watched the coursing, which Queen Cherish also attended. Her
Royal Majesty had the priveledge of first release. She released Desert for
both his first and second runs.
This was the first time a non-sighthound was coursed in Trimaris. The 20-pound
Kisses was a huge hit. She followed the lure faithfully and was quite
energetic. Due to her size, it was not necessary to use a slip collar.
Instead, her owner, Lady Cheiri wreic Maredudd, held her until the call "Tally
Ho!"
Respectfully submitted,
eawfst Hlaford (HL) Randwulf t Blacwulveslea
