If it's raining or still wet out, your dogs will probably not get good 
traction.  That could lead to some bad tumbles or slides.  I would recommend 
against it.  
 
Having exposed battery terminals while you are holding onto an extenction cord 
that is on the other end of the motor the battery is attached to, probably 
isn't the best idea either.
 
I hope you have a safe and wonderful coursing.  May the bad weather pass you 
by, or at least hold off until you are done.
