I can answer to this a little too -- I told *many* people who know Lords and
Ladies to ask them to attend to the Hound Course. From Baron Mann of my
Barony (though that one was my fault a little too, because we spoke with him
many times and I forgot to bug him to come to the field) to my friends from
Artemesia, there was little time to update everyone daily what with the rain
and
battle setup. I missed the Queen's Gathering of the Hounds as well due to
our late arrival Friday, so I don't know if that went off well -- or, at all.
I also had my human children with us as well, so my husband and I were a bit
distracted this year. We're already planning sitters for next!

But, I was going to suggest a couple of things for next year in light of the
late planning -- which I think went quite wonderfully despite what could be
in future with more time and planning.

1. I have a portable agility set if we may want to add another event for the
hounds for next year.

2. I would be totally interested and willing to run classes for youth and/or
adult on anything from hound history to event training. I do confirmation,
obedience, agility, coursing (though I am nothing of an expert in any one of
them) and can share my interest in hounds and fun things to do with them. I
would also be interested to share knowledge with other sighthound owners on
site -- from art to history to vet practices to events.

3. Official invites to the Royals from various lands would be a nice touch,
and sent early enough would give them notice to bring their own dogs too.

4. Who the heck is the Houndsman/mistress of this Atenveldt -- does it go by
Kingdom or Barony? I'm sorry if I missed this info on a website somewhere
-- is it Yasmeena? I am having a blonde moment. ;> I do know part of the
problem in my neck of Atenveldt is that there is no organized group here,
though there are tons of dogs and owners. I will do what I can to recruit at
fighter practices, but I want to have my bearings lest I step on toes.

I have two possible excuses, but no good answer. First, coming from a
Kingdom where coursing is not really cared about by the Royals, I was
thinking they probably wouldn't be interested (at least ours). The second
reason was knowing how incredibly busy all the monarchs are at this war, I
didn't really want to impose on anyone or make them feel obligated to attend
yet another activity.
