Adoptions for the most part are a wonderful thing, but, sometimes, some are just a little more special than others. Today was a fine example of that, and I shall tell the tale of the happy tail. Moon Beamer came to me a year or so ago. He is a fine big fawn male with a black muzzle and a very laid back attitude. He had company, a couple of other fawns, a black and a brindle, all males of differing personalities, as it goes. For some reason, this boy kept being overlooked, until last fall, a couple who had IG's came by. Beamer and the man became very interested in each other. That was the beginning. Beamer and I had an agreement that he could choose his home and when his forever people came to claim him he would let me know. He knew and he waited patiently for them. Beamer let me know this was his people, and the man said he was interested. They came by and visited a few times after that and the reaction from Beamer was the same. He was attached to the man, and that was it. The man and I agreed that he should be Beamers new "dad". That was a few months ago. Beamers new family moved into a new home with a large yard and had to put up fences not only for the IG's but for their new hound as well. To quit dragging this story out, Beamers new "dad" called me a couple of days ago and asked if he could come and claim his new pup today and I agreed. When he came, Beamer was at the door, along with the rest of my crew to welcome him, however, Beamer seemed a little aloof. His dad and I did the paper work and talked a bit about Beamer, shots, schedules, etc. and when his dad was ready to leave, he picked up a leash and said, "Beamer, are you ready?" Like a shot, Beamer was off the couch, and nuzzled up with his new dad and saying, hey, see the tail wag, you know I'm ready. Beamer said his good byes to us all and happily led his new dad out to his car, jumped in and headed down the road to a new home and a very wonderful life. I sit here now, writing this, shedding tears of happiness for Beamer and his new family. Juergen and Freyda, now have a pocket pack and one heck of a handfull of MoonBeamer. May you all spend the rest of your days in happiness. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.308 / Virus Database: 266.7.1 - Release Date: 3/9/05 Yahoo!
