Good Evening!
Please excuse the crosspostings, especially if you get this more than once.

Konur and I have been thinking and talking quite a bit about getting another
family member. We are hoping for another rescued dog - I want a bigger dog
this time. One of the breeds we are looking at are greyhounds. Gizmo is a
whippet/spaniel and looks just like a greyhound, but short.

Is there anyone in these groups (or knows someone) that can give me some
"practical" information on this breed? I can look up anything I want to
online and in the library, but I would like some first hand accounts.

Eventually, when we open ourselves up to getting the new "kid" (in about
five years) we know that the dog will choose us, but I want to do the
research on the bigger breeds, and talk to some big breed owners so that I
know what to expect.

Please understand, this is not something that we are going into lightly. We
are seriously looking into this, which is why it's noted in our five year
plan.

In five years, I am hoping to be working from home in my own business or
still with this company (just in a different position), so I will be able to
be with the animal all day. Right now, just ain't gonna happen unless we win
the lottery. And to win, we have to play LOL!

But, thanks in advance for helping or pointing me to someone who can.
