*Houndmistress*: Mistress Derbail inghean Conchobar *Luremistress*: Mistress Derbail inghean Conchobar *Course Length:* 175 paces (a relatively short course) *Lure machine*: Electric *Footing*: Hard, sandy, mown grass *Course shape*: Oval *Weather*: Cool, windy, sunny *Hounds Coursed*: Dromas, Pedo, and Libby (all greyhounds owned by Mistress Rebecca); Lori (greyhound owned by Mistress Derbail); Oni (Belgian Tervuren owned by Lady Genvieve d’Argent Chene) *Notes*: We had a perfect day for coursing, and with an hour’s preparation time, the course was laid and tested. Paperwork was completed, hounds were checked for soundness, and legs were wrapped for safety. Mistress Derbail provided a brief overview of coursing for the spectators and addressed individually each person who wanted to release a hound. This coursing event was open to all breeds, with the requirement that those wishing to release a hound must be 18 years of age. Pedo, Libby, and Lori ran the course twice, with relish. Dromas decided he didn’t feel like coursing, but he enjoyed watching. Oni was a novice courser and did a beautiful job on his first release. Unfortunately, our battery ran out of steam on his second release. Her Majesty, Queen Deirdre of Meridies, released Pedo as the first hound of the day. We had a large number of spectators cheering on the hounds, and no injuries occurred. Pedo, Libby, Lori, and Dromas made an appearance in court as the official duties of Meridian Houndmistress (including guild paperwork, collars, and garb) were passed from Mistress Rebecca (now of Gleann Abhann) to Mistress Derbail. ------------------------ Yahoo!
