I am none of the lovely SCA titles nor a part of those important-sounding memberships which the Lady so glibly recited and used as the basis for her most cutting, damning remarks and opinions without the boon of the further story which was recently provided by the doGmother of those innocent pups. Using title, position, and acting the part of gentry without the benefit of a proper upbringing and education in the gentle forms of chivilry and artful pursuit of manners is what I believe used to be termed 'hubris'... This being rather loosely defined as the unkind calling down of the wrath of the gods upon oneself. If it were upon me to judge other's conduct after hearing more of the story, I might consider the suggestion of an act or two of contrition and pennance for the vehemence and vitriol which the Lady has used indisciminately. This, perhaps prior to some further action such as lifting a title or two. But that is a concern for others. There are historically many who were deemed righteous in the eyes of others failing to recognize or acknowledge failings which later brought about their fall from grace However, I applaud the Lady doGmother of those pups for offering these pups up for adoption rather than many other options which would be far less altruistic. So you have my admiration. Historically, bastard daughters and sons of royalty were often quietly raised and fostered by nobility or their retainers in the case of revolt, rebellion, or untimely death without recognized heir... I wonder if this might be similar in form... Mark The Goatspotter Sort of like Fedor the Bellringer minus the nobility and the bells
