Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a FAQ which answers the most important questions
beginners might have with Scala on Android, and I would be happy to hear
your opinions and input.

Here are the questions I currently have (with some notes how an answer
could look like):

Can Scala be used to write Android apps?
How large are Android apps written in Scala?

smallest size is about 1mb (vs. 50kb for java) everything else scales
linearly
Do processing steps like tree-shaking (removing unused code) slow down
development?
How can scala be used to improve android development?
How do I build android apps using scala?

(sbt plugins, gradle plugins, maven plugins… ide support…)

What versions of Scala can I use with Android?
 2.8-2.11

Do you think this covers most popular questions? Anything missing?
What answers would you suggest?

Thanks a lot!

Bye,

Simon
