(I'm not on SO, so I will reply here) There was even some mention of how Scala plays with Jack/Jill on https://skillsmatter.com/skillscasts/6680-the-jack-and-jill-build-system (https://www.guardsquare.com/files/media/JackAndJill_DroidconLondon2015.pdf - slides 13-14) - anyone have access to the Android-N developer preview that got released recently and checked it? I would be very interested, if Scala 2.12 works there. Seems there are chances it will.
Taking into account, that at even 75% of devices are replaced within 2.5 years (there are about 25% of devices older than android 4.4 released 2.5 years ago), the adoption of new OpenJDK based devices might be fast enough. Interesting times, for sure!
