I hope someone can answer these questions, I've had a look around and can't find anything that makes sense to me.
I've: a) got a typical stack of www, app and mysql. b) created EBS volumes for app and one for mysql c) configured app and mysql to use their respective volumes d) installed the other software I need on app and mysql e) created custom roles for app and mysql I'm now contemplating restarting the farm with my custom roles so my questions are: a) will the EBS volume be associated with the correct roles on start up or is there additional configuration I'll need to do? b) how do I manage DB connection from app to mysql? My current connection string uses the internal IP of mysql, I'm assuming the internal IP of mysql could change on restart and invalidate my connection string. c) I'm under the impression EBS volumes are tied to individual instances - for a solution like scalr that adds new instances as traffic increases how do I correctly configure EBS\roles to resolve correctly without conflicting each other? d) how is www load balanced? I appreciate it automatically load balances between app instances but how do I have multiple www instances to remove a single point of failure? Thanks, Paul --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "scalr-discuss" group.
