I did an internal demo recently and had created a load generating app config which pounded on one of our critical apps also deployed in scalr... demo started with how quickly I could launch additional instances of the load generator.... after getting some going I segued into "how is our app handling this sudden spike in load?" and flipped over to show how a new instance had been launched and while I spoke periodically updated to show again how the app was handling load.
Was very well received and demonstrated both the simplicity of launching general purpose apps as needed AND the auto scaling of Scalr...
