Also, here is a quote on the startup process of the db on sclar. The numbers
relate to my db which is about 20G now.

"Starting the MySQL master consists of a number of steps: it should get
the most recent snapshot (30 minutes for your case), launch MySQL
(automatic table checking took around 20 minutes), then bundle this
data and store at S3 (again 30 minutes). We are working on optimizing
this process."
