I'm trying to resolve the external IP of my instance. When I run ec2_iplocal2ext and pass in the instances local IP I get "cannot find external hostname for host". Assuming I'm supposed to provide the internal IP of the instance can anyone explain why this may not work?
Also, when I run ec2-describe-instances nothing is returned, when I run or ec2-describe-instances [instance identifier] I get "the instance ID xxx does not exist". Again, assuming the input to "ec2- describe-instances" is the result of "ec2_get_local_instance_id" I can't understand why this wouldn't work. Can anyone help please? If it helps farm ID is 1645.
