I'm only guessing, but I think the general role 'attach EBS' feature is independent of the mysqmlvm EBS storage feature. When you use the automatic attach feature, it will do it for all instances of the role (regardless of if it is mysqllvm-master oe salve - or even if some other role). If you only want to use EBS for DB data storage, leave the auto attach feature disabled, but set the mysqllvm role's storage option to EBS (as you have) and it'll create and attach the volume as needed.
Having said all that, I've only tried it once and on the first launch of mysqllvm (master) it failed. The scalr logs said that it successfully attached the EBS volume it created, but the AWS console (and a cmd-line "df") showed that it was not attached. It stayed permanently stuck at 'initializing' on the scalr UI. I just terminated the instance and started it again and it seemed to work as advertised the second time. -David. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "scalr-discuss" group.
